Job - Architect

£35k to £45k dependent on experience.

We are looking for an Architect to join our small, friendly team, working on low energy, sustainable builds for homeowners and community groups in the North West and further afield.

Progress in Practice is an award-winning, young and innovative studio. This is the opportunity for a passionate person to join and help shape the future of the practice. We are really lucky to be working with on a wide range of exciting low energy projects, and with amazing clients who support this ambition.

The new member of the team would be responsible for running jobs within the office with the support of the wider team, to include liaising with clients and consultants, co-ordinating design packages and supporting more junior members of the team. They will be working on designs from Stages 0-5, to include Contract Admin and site support.

Experience working on domestic projects would be beneficial and confidence in technical design is needed. An interest and enthusiasm for low energy, low carbon design is necessary, though direct experience in Passivhaus is not a prerequisite. We use Revit, InDesign, Sketchup and Excel, so having these skills would also be useful.

All of the work within the office has a sustainability ambition, whether that is as a certified Passivhaus, EnerPHit or AECB project or not, and training will be provided in Passivhaus and PHPP in-house.

We try to foster a positive, supportive working environment. This means sharing ideas, supporting one another and creating positive, collaborative relationships with builders, consultants and clients alike. It also means we organise lectures, host training workshops and attend the occasional pub quiz. And if needed, we have an office pup, to provide emotional support!

Billie tries her best to provide emotional support, but often it is the other way around!
